Lewisham has taken the leap and joined the selected boroughs
01 July 2009
Lewisham is the latest borough to introduce Oyster's Master Plan. Following the lead of other boroughs that have shown a marked improvement in planning and programming their works, Lewisham has no doubt that it will deliver on its KPI's.
With some major road repairs being started over the summer break, Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, said: "The maintenance of roads is very important for the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians. The planned programme of works will be carried out at a time that is intended to create least disruption. It's part of Lewisham's commitment to maintain the local environment." Working closely with its key contractor, automated noticing through mobile working will enable Lewisham to be fully compliant with the TMA for all types of works - major, standard, minor, urgent, emergency and reactive.
Leading on from this, Oyster will integrate their planning, scheduling and noticing package to the client's financial systems enabling the mobile working to trigger invoicing and reports to ensure efficient operation of the gangs. The key to all of this is technology providing efficiencies and that ultimately lead to 'value for money'. This is a must in these straightened times.
